Science Day

On the occasion of National Science Day, Science week was celebrated by the students and staff of M.E.S. Vidya Mandir, Belapur from Monday 21st February’22 to 28th February’22.

The objective of this programme was to provide a platform to the students to prove their talents, bring out their creativity, encourage scientific thinking and promote better understanding of concepts of pure science.

Activities planned were as follows …

For students of Std. V- VII a Science quiz was held on 22nd February’22.

A guest lecture on ‘Importance of Conservation of Mangroves’ was conducted by Mrs. Chitra Thakkar (Co-ordinator of Inner Wheel, Navi Mumbai) for the students Std. V- VII.

On 23rd February’22 students of Std. I – IV also participated in Science Quiz.

In today’s world, being curious can enrich your life massively. So an attempt to explore the curiosity of our kids through this activity ‘Tell me why?’. During the science week our Students of standard 5th, 6th & 7th compiled questions that came to their mind and tried to find the answers with the help of their teachers, parents, reference
books, encyclopedias, internet etc.

Through this reference resource for children. Through ‘Tell me why’ book, we have tried to cover a wide range of topics in a easy to follow question-answer format, along with illustrations and photographs, making learning simpler.

On 28th February’22 Science quiz, Rangoli Competition (Well illustrated Science diagram) and Essay Competition on the topic ‘Wonders of Science’ was conducted for Std VIII – IX.

Our guest of Honour Mrs. Deepa Survase, (Science HOD, St. Xavier’s high School Jr. College , Nerul) inaugurate the book ‘Tell me why’. and emphasized the importance of Science in our day to day life.

The Chief guest appreciated our school students for their active participation. They enjoyed Quiz and Science diagrams through rangoli made by the students.

Our principal Mr. Shubhangi Shinde highlighted the significance of scientific applications in our daily life.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks and Pasayadaan.
